That’s an excellent question! Let me properly introduce myself:
My name is Joshua Nicholson. I’ve been a professional voice artist for about 20 years, booking jobs in just about every genre!

“Can you guarantee that I’ll have success?”
ABSOLUTELY NOT! Anyone who does promise or guarantee success might have good intentions, but it’s completely unrealistic.
What I CAN promise, though, is that you will have a much better CHANCE at success after taking this course, skipping over months (if not years) of frustration and seeking out all of this information on your own.
I can also promise that you get out of your career what you put into it. If you go it on your own, build a website, slap a demo or two on there, and just sit around waiting for the world to realize how amazing you are and for the work to come to you, you will get nowhere. VO Rocket Ship Curriculum
PART ONE - Build the Rocket Ship
To start, we’re going to focus on building the vessel that will carry you throughout your career: your ability to perform.
- You will get familiar with the different genres of voiceover that are available.
- You will also start making some decisions about which genres you’ll want to pursue at the start.
- We’re going to be doing some practical exercises, too, like warmups.
- If you’re an experienced actor, we’re going to talk about how to adapt what you already know to the world of voiceover.
PART TWO - Learn to Fly the Ship
This session will be all about tech:
- Where and how to set up the most optimal space where you are
- The different kinds of microphones and which ones might be best suited to your voice, space, and genre
- How to connect it all to start recording
- The basics of recording software (including Audacity, Reaper, and Adobe Audition), everything you need to know to start submitting auditions
- Audition submission best practices
PART THREEÂ - Fuel the Rocket
So, you’ve got your rocket, and you know how to fly it, but that thing isn’t going anywhere without fuel. In this case, the fuel is your knowledge of the business.
- Demos
- Agents and managers
